The·Triangular·Trade

This is the triangle that is responsible for the diaspora of Africans throughout the West Indies and North America.  Below are three versions of the same route, each containing slightly different amounts of information.

These maps make  me feel a number of emotions about humanity.  Most of them are not good ones.

Love and Enjoy.

The last one is the worst. I read this book recently “A Thousand Years of Non-Linear History.” It had an interesting analysis of how investment capital and other Western capitalist inventions enabled this triangle. But it was ruined for me by the author’s horrific, matter-of-fact geographic-determinism take on slavery and colonization.
