I have a new website (www.lesliechannel.com)! It’s still under construction, but when it’s complete I hope it gives everybody a better idea of the work I’ve been doing over the past 8 years or so.
After checking out some of my photographs (the ones on light specifically), one of my housemates asked what a certain project I posted has to do with racism. I laughed, realizing that this person only knows me as a artist playing in themes of oppression. I have gone through many artistic phases, from purely decorative to the complex conceptual project that I have going on now. I have explored and expressed myself many different ways while growing my practice. I expect this to continue. I expect to go through many phases as an artist, to cover different themes and points of interest, through a variety of media. It world be boring to get stuck on just one subject, yes?
Anyhow, time for me to try and rest my eyes a bit more this morning. Spent a sleepless night fretting over a piece of lost fabric. Channeled the energy into posting some new art on the site. Found the fabric this morning. Regretting not sleeping. My life.
