World·ly
l
|2. mundane or temporal
3. absorbed in or concerned with material things or matters that are immediately relevant
4. versed in the ways of the world; sophisticated
At different points in my life this word has had different meanings. When I was growing up worldly was a word used to describe people who weren’t Jehovah’s Witnesses, people I wasn’t supposed to associate with or learn from (i.e. almost everyone on the planet). I was raised in a religion that taught me to be scared/mistrustful of just about everyone. Not associating with worldly folks was an unrealistic expectation, but unlearning being scared of people has been difficult.
I like to think of my blog as a worldly, using a different definition, of course. It’s making it’s way around the planet. As of now my blog has been viewed in almost 150 countries! A big, heartfelt thank you to all who’ve visited!
Love,
Leslie
